KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP investigators are looking for suspects after a pair of incidents Saturday in Aberdeen.

According to an RCMP news release, a man took more than $4,000 in jewellery from Michael Hill in Aberdeen Mall Saturday afternoon (April 6).

He dashed from a store to a black SUV parked outside the mall.

Then, at about 10:00 p.m. Saturday, a man looking for a room at the Days Inn on Rogers Place was told there was no availability.

When he left, the man backed the black SUV he was driving into a woman standing in the hotel’s parking lot before speeding away.

The woman received minor injuries and was treated by paramedics.

In both cases, the suspect description is similar and the description of the vehicle is the same:

  • black SUV
  • tinted rear windows
  • large, black after-market rims
  • white front bumper
  • no front license plate

Suspect description:

  • white
  • in his 30s
  • about 5’10”
  • medium build

Police say they can’t confirm it is the same suspect in both incidents, though they concede that may be the case.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
