KFR quickly douses late night shed fire

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire and Rescue quickly knocked down a shed fire along East Shuswap Road last night.

Just before midnight last evening (April 5), Kamloops Fire and Rescue Platoon Captain Mike Haines says crews responded to 895 Shuswap Road, where a shed had become fully engulfed by flames.

“Fire was quickly knocked down and we were clear of the scene within an hour.”

As for a cause, Haines says that has yet to be determined.

“There didn’t appear to be any electrical or anything like that with this structure, so we’re not really sure what the cause is at this time.”

Generally if there is anything found on scene that is suspicious, Haines says investigators are brought in. 

“We didn’t find anything suspicious in nature. Investigators may go have a look on Monday, but we’re not sure at this time.”
