‘The Sound of Music’, ‘Chelsea Hotel’ highlight Western Canada Theatre’s 2019-20 season

KAMLOOPS — Western Canada Theatre (WCT) has announced the lineup for its 2019-20 season, and it includes a Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, a tribute to a Canadian troubadour and a comedy/horror mashup.

The season’s biggest production will be Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music, starting Nov. 28, 2019 and described as a family holiday tradition.

Later in the season, WCT will present Chelsea Hotel: The Songs of Leonard Cohen.

The cabaret is described as “enchanting and eclectic”. It starts March 26, 2020.

The first production of the season at the Sagebrush Theatre is slated to be Dracula: The Bloody Truth.

The comedy is billed “Monty Python meets the macabre”. It opens on October 10, 2019.
