Classics finish 12th at provincial winter swim meet

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Classic Swim team hosted the BC Winter Provincial Swimming Championships, March 7-10, 2019. The meet hosted 511 swimmers from 40 swim clubs throughout BC. The Classic’s had 10 of the 16 swimmers competing in the meet make second swims or scored points towards their 12th place finish in the meet, while winning a total of 7 medals (2 Golds, & 5 Bronze) and set 2 new club records.
 
Outstanding performances from the Classic’s came from : 
 
Jack Cameron in the 15 & Under Boys winning the 50 & 100 Freestyles and a Bronze in the 100 Fly.
 
Diego Paz in the 15 & Under Boys winning three Bronze Medals in the 400 & 1500 Freestyles and 400 IM.
 
Sarah Koopmans in the 15 & Over Girls won a Bronze Medal in the 100 Fly.
 
The two Club records were set by Sienna Angove in the 12 & Under 400 and 200 IM’s. The 400 IM record was a 24 year old club record.
