KAMLOOPS — Tickets are selling fast for this year’s TEDx TRU event on March 9.

The event, which will feature eight speakers discussing a variety of topics, is limited to 100 people and early-bird tickets are already sold out.

While the event will be held in TRU’s Grand Hall, the greater community is invited to attend.

“It’s not just a university event, I mean anybody can be a part of this event and take away from it,” said co-chair Samantha Desouza. “It’s a way to reach out to the Kamloops community, to the global community and so we hope that everybody supports us and comes to this event and listens to each speaker because they all are tremendous speakers.”

The speakers for the event have been selected for having something powerful to say.

Some of this year’s topics include sustainability, artificial intelligence and autism.

“It’s sort of like trying to start the conversation with them and acknowledge topics that have not gotten the visibility before,” said co-chair Sai Gamare, “so that’s the plan for everybody to come and learn something from.”
