KAMLOOPS — (Note: This story has been updated here.)

Kamloops RCMP and the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) have arrested another suspect in a robbery and kidnapping from last Thursday (Feb. 14).

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the 36-year-old suspect was arrested at a North Shore home Wednesday morning (Feb. 20).

“Through investigation, Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit have identified suspects who are believed to have been involved in last week’s robbery and kidnapping. Because firearms were used in the crime, we engaged the Southeast District ERT,” said Shelkie.

“A residence on Brandon Avenue was surrounded and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.”

This comes after Justin William Daniels was charged with several counts in the same incident last week.

Last Thursday, RCMP say two men and a woman were robbed downtown by two men armed with guns, with the suspects taking the woman against her will.

Investigators traced the suspects to a home on Dallas Drive, which they found empty, before finding the victim’s stolen vehicle abandoned near Barnhartvale Road and Highway 97.

Officers further traced the suspects to a home in Kelowna, arresting one of the robbery suspects.

The next morning, officers arrested two suspects near Falkland and found the kidnapped woman, but said they were still on the hunt for another robbery suspect.

It appears that was the man arrested at the Brandon Avenue residence this morning.

Shelkie says more information on the incident will be released later this afternoon.
