Orient chair lift opening at Sun Peaks Resort

SUN PEAKS — The latest addition to Sun Peaks Resort ski and snowboard operations will be open in time for Christmas.

The Orient chair lift will start moving at 8:30 a.m on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), providing new runs and terrain to explore, while improving skier access to the main village core.

In a release today, the resort says the 4 million dollar project in the east village area will have the official grand opening in late January, after local dignitaries take the first chairs for a spin.

Construction on the 4 passenge-wide chair lift was underway throughout the summer and fall months to prepare for the 2018-19 ski season at Sun Peaks Resort.
