KAMLOOPS — Just because you’ve only had a couple of drinks doesn’t mean you’re set to drive — that’s the message coming from Kamloops RCMP after the launch of this year’s Counter Attack program.

The Kamloops RCMP have been conducting road checks to try and catch impaired drivers. Detachment spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says several roadblocks were conducted throughout the city last weekend.

Those checks resulted in:

  • Six 90-day Immediate Roadside Suspensions
  • One three-day Immediate Roadside Suspension
  • Three 24-hour suspensions related to alcohol
  • 20 violation tickets issued
