KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: A 36-year-old man is in hospital recovering from a serious injury after a stabbing in Valleyview.

It happened last night shortly before 7:00 p.m.

A police officer on her way to another call came across the injured man standing in the 1600-block of Valleyview Drive, next to the McCracken Station Pub and Liquor Store.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie of Kamloops RCMP says the victim described being attacked.

“He gave a description, but at this time, because of his condition, we’re not sure if it’s accurate or not. It was a very vague description; it was just that some males had attacked him,” said Shelkie.

The victim’s wounds are not considered life-threatening.

Shelkie says the residence where the man’s truck was found has been the subject of calls to RCMP, but they do not know how it is related to the victim.

Police are also trying to determine whether the victim knew his attackers.

More to come.
