KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have released more details regarding Wednesday’s pepper spray incident at Valleyview Secondary School.

Police are now confirming the school administration called police, just after noon, to report that some of their students had told them there were three teenagers on the school grounds who had pepper spray. The school was placed in lockdown/hold-and-secure as a precaution.

“Officers arrived and found that the suspect teens had left the area but there was a vehicle in the school parking lot that had some pepper spray on it,” says Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. “The teens who allegedly had the pepper spray have been identified and are not students of Valleyview High School.”

She adds she can’t comment on the possibility that the incident was related to a fight on Sept. 11 that involved as many as 30 participants outside school grounds.
