KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are confirming a man found dead in Richmond this week was present at the murder of gang kingpin Konaam Shirzad in Kamloops.

30 year old Ibrahim Amjad Ibrahim was found shot to death in Richmond’s Garden City Park on Tuesday.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says Ibrahim was in Kamloops on September 21, and was not injured when Shirzad was gunned down near his home on Hudson’s Bay Trail.

Shelkie adds investigators spoke to Ibrahim as a witness to Shirzad’s killing, but he was not cooperative.

Shelkie says RCMP can’t say the two incidents are related, but states both Shirzad and Ibrahim were known gang associates.

Shortly after Shirzad’s murder, RCMP Serious Crime investigators confirmed Shirzad was a leader of the Red Scorpions gang, and the owner of the Heavy Metal gym on the Kamloops North Shore.

Shirzad’s killing remains unsolved, and investigators are still looking for witnesses and surveillance video related to the crime.
