Rotary Food Drive brings in record amount of donations

KAMLOOPS — The Rotary Food Drive didn’t meet the goal set out by the Food Bank, but it still smashed a record in the city. 

The food drive collected 65,000 pounds of food. 

Despite a goal of 75,000 pounds, Kamloops Food Bank Executive Director Bernadette Siracky says she is far from disappointment. 

“We gathered 50,000 pounds in the fall, so this is 15,000 pounds more, which is over seven tonnes. So it was a significant amount, it was very noticeable in our warehouse.”
