KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: RCMP are no longer on scene at Sa-Hali Secondary School.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie confirms investigators were looking into a social media threat, though they do not believe there is any credibility to the threat.

School District 73 says counsellors are on scene for students or staff who need them.

EARLIER: Kamloops RCMP are conducting an investigation at Sa-Hali Secondary School, though they say there is no imminent threat.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says there are numerous police officers at the school conducting an investigation though there is “no need for concern for the safety of the students.”

“The school is not on lockdown, the students are in class, and it’s business as usual for students and the teachers.”

A recorded message sent to parents by School District 73 says the district became aware overnight of a threat to the student body.

The message says several police officers are on scene, but that students are in class as normal.
