VANCOUVER — British Columbia’s government is teaming up with Washington state to study a potential high-speed rail link between Vancouver and Seattle.

Premier John Horgan says the province will contribute $300,000 to look at the practicality and business case for high-speed rail between the cities.

The service would cut travel times to about 60 minutes from three hours.

Washington state released an analysis last month estimating the rail link would create up to 200,000 jobs for B.C. and the United States, and last week promised up to $1.2 million for a deeper study on the service.
