Grasslands extension for Batchelor Heights almost ready

KAMLOOPS — A long-awaited second outlet for Batchelor Heights is nearly ready.

The Grasslands Boulevard extension connecting the Batchelor neighbourhood with Westsyde Road was slated to open earlier in the fall, but was delayed by the early blast of winter Kamloops received.

“Weather didn’t help here in the last few weeks. It was a bit unexpected; we don’t usually get that much cold and snow in the beginning,” said City of Kamloops Capital Projects Manager Darren Crundwell.

“It was a bit delayed, but we should be open next week. We’re just doing some final inspections early next week — street lights and signals and stuff like that, but we should be open.”

Crundwell says the extension has been anticipated by Batchelor Heights residents for a long time.
