VICTORIA —  B-C’s Green party isn’t entirely on board with the N-D-P’s recent announcement of raising the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour by 2021.

Green leader Andrew Weaver says the establishment of a fair wages commission was a key element of his party’s election platform and was included in the agreement signed by himself and Premier John Horgan.

But he says he’s concerned that the 2021 timeline to raise the wage is prejudicial to the work of the commission.

Weaver says the commission should be the one to determine the timeline for minimum wage increases based on evidence and through consultation with stakeholders.
