KAMLOOPS — Blazers forward Jackson Shepard has packed his bags and is heading for Europe — not to stay, but for the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, starting next Monday in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Shepard was one of two Blazers attending Hockey Canada’s 44 player Under-18 selection camp in Calgary, and made the cut for the 22-player roster going to Europe.

Defenceman Luke Zazula was the other Blazers player at the Calgary camp, and did not make the final cut.

Canada has won the mid-summer tournament 20 of its 26 years.
