KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking for assistance from the public after a Kamloops pizzeria was robbed at knifepoint over the weekend.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says on Saturday afternoon at about 1:00 p.m., a man entered the Papa John's location in the Cityview Shopping Centre on Highway 5A, asking for change for a $20 bill.

When the clerk told him it was against store policy to make change, the man pulled out a knife and grabbed a handful of cash from the register.

Cash in hand, the man ran from the pizza shop on foot, heading south.

Suspect description:

  • 35-40 years old
  • 6'3" tall
  • average build
  • bearded
  • wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled over his head
  • wearing a dark-coloured ball cap
  • wearing jeans

If you know anything about the robbery, call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.

Policy review may mean BC Coroners Service will release fewer identities
