KAMLOOPS — A local police officer is receiving praise for helping a disabled man get out of a sticky situation.

Last Friday, February 17th, RCMP Constable Sukhdeep Toor responded to a call from a BC Transit bus driver seeking help for a man who had a broken down wheelchair.

“When Cst. Toor arrived on scene, the man in the wheelchair advised him that the motor on his chair had broken. The disabled man had no family to call, and no money for a cab. Cst. Toor soon realized that he wouldn’t be able to fit the wheelchair into his police car to take the man home,” explained Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.
