KAMLOOPS — It’s not your typical summer camp, but it’s proving to be very popular for 18 students in the Kamloops area.

The Mind over Metal welding camp being held at Thompson Rivers University is giving kids the chance to find out whether a career in the trades is right for them.

The best part, it’s completely free.

The camp is funded by the Canadian Welding Association Foundation, and it’s getting kids off their electronics and interested in something that could become a lifelong passion.
