KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Blazers forward Jermaine Loewen is a fan favourite at the Sandman Centre.

Born in Jamaica, adopted by Canadian parents at the age of five, the 18-year old from Arborg, Manitoba never took up organized hockey until the age of ten.

Five years later he was drafted in the third round of the bantam draft by the Blazers, and is now in his second season in the Western Hockey League.
